And Saul approved of their killing him. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. 2 Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him.3 But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison. 4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 5 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 For with shrieks, impure spirits came out of many, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. 8 So there was great joy in that city. Acts 8:1-8
1사울은 그가 죽임 당함을 마땅히 여기더라
2 그 날에 예루살렘에 있는 교회에 큰 박해가 있어 사도 외에는 다 유대와 사마리아 모든 땅으로 흩어지니라. 경건한 사람들이스데반을 장사하고 위하여 크게 울더라
3 사울이 교회를 잔멸할새 각 집에 들어가 남녀를 끌어다가 옥에 넘기니라

5빌립이 사마리아 성에 내려가 그리스도를 백성에게 전파하니

7많은 사람에게 붙었던 더러운 귀신들이 크게 소리를 지르며 나가고 또 많은 중풍병자와 못 걷는 사람이 나으니

1. God’s absolute plan is inside crisis
1) God’s absolute plan (Covenant)
•Covenant of Mount Calvary: Christ (Matt16:16,John19:30)
•Covenant of Mount of Olives: God’s kingdom, world evangelization (Act1:3,8)
2) Reason for crisis-They didn’t obey the covenant
•The church lost hold of their missions commission (Act1:8)
•A great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem (1)

2. God’s eyes are on the evangelists.
1) Scattered ones
: Remaining ones, stump, remnant
2) Those who have the Gospel message
(Act8:4) “Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went”
3) Those who relay Christ in the field
(Act8:5) “Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ there”
3. We experience God’s works when we proclaim Christ
1) When we talk about the Gospel, the Holy Spirit works
(1Cor12:3) No one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit
(Act1:5) You will be baptized by the Holy Spirit
(Act2:1) They all gathered together and prayed in the church
(Act2:4) All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
(Act6:5-6) Church officer appointment-received the filling of the Holy Spirit
(Act7:55) Stephen who was full of the Holy Spirit
(Act8:16) They only received water baptism
(Act8:17) The apostles placed their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit
2) When the Holy Spirit works, the devil will flee

(Matt8:16) “Many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick”
(Matt12:28) “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you”
3) When the devil flees, diseases will be healed
(Heb4:12) “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”
