“Those Who Are Poor in Spirit”
(Matt5: 1-6)

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”
<Introduction> Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount – 8 Blessings
1) (Matt5: 3) – “Blessed are the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of heaven”
2) (Matt5: 4) – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”
3) (Matt5: 5) – “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth”
<Main> Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
1. Misunderstandings of people
1) Misunderstanding of the Jews (priests, Pharisees, scribes)
2) Misunderstanding of unbelievers
3) Misunderstanding of the church
2. Those who are hungry and thirst for righteousness
1) Righteousness of God – Christ (salvation of God)
(Matt6:33) “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness”
(2 Tim. 3:15) “salvation through faith in Christ Jesus”
(2 Tim. 3:16) “The Bible is good for righteous education”
2) Thirst of pastor
(Matt9:36) “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd.”
3) Thirst of lay leaders
(Romans 16:23) “The Gaius who takes care of the whole church”
4) Thirst of the Remnants
(Jeremiah 4: 4) ” Because of thirst the infant’s tongue sticks to the roof of its mouth; the children beg for bread, but no one gives it to them.,
(Amos 8:11) “not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the Lord”
3. They will be filled.
1) Spiritual Richness (Spiritual Summit)

1)하나님의 의(Righteousness)-그리스도(하나님의 구원)

(딤후3:15) “그리스도 안에 있는 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 얻게하려 함이라”
(딤후3:16) “성경은 의로 교육하기에 유익하니”
2)목회자의 목마름
(마9:36) “무리를 보시고 불쌍히 여기시니, 그들이 목자없는 양과 같이 고생하며 기진함이라”
3)중직자의 목마름
