내가 너희에게 이르노니 이에 저 바리새인이 아니고 이 사람이 의롭다 하심을 받고 그의 집으로 내려갔느니라. 무릇 자기를 높이는 자는 낮아지고, 자기를 낮추는 자는 높아지리라 하시니라 (눅18:14)

1)바리새인의 기도
(눅18:9)-자기를 의롭다고 믿고 다른 사람을 멸시하는 자

“바리새인은 서서 따로 기도하여 이르되,
하나님, 나는 세리와도 같지 아니함을 감사하나이다”
“나는 이레에 두 번씩 금식하고 또 소득의 십일조를 드리나이다”
2)세리의 기도
(눅18:13) “하나님이여 불쌍히 여기소서. 나는 죄인이로소이다”
(막2:17) “나는 의인을 부르러 온 것이 아니요 죄인을 부르러 왔노라”
3. 어린아이와 같은 믿음의 기도
(눅18:16) “하나님의 나라가 이런 자의 것이니라”
(눅18:17) “누구든지 하나님의 나라를 어린 아이와 같이 받아들이지 않는 자는 결단코 거기 들어가지 못하리라”

1. A widow’s prayer appealing to release her grudge
1) The unjust judge
(Luke 18:2) a judge who neither feared God nor cared about man
(Luke 18:5) “because this widow keeps bothering me, I will set that she gets justice.”
2) The word of Jesus
(Luke 18:7) “Will not God bring about justice for his chosen one, who cry out to him day and night?”
(Luke 18:8) “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
2. The prayer of a Pharisee and a tax collector
1) A Pharisee’s prayer
(Luke 18:9) some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everbody else
(Luke 18:11-12)- confess his righteousness
“God, I thank you that I am not even like this tax collector.”
“I fast twice a seek and give a tenth of all I get.”
2) A tax collector’s prayer
(Luke 18:13) “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
(Mark 2:17) “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
